A well-tuned instrument is essential for playing any music style. This program is a precise tuner for several stringed instruments, such as guitar, violin, bass guitar, banjo and some more. You only need to select the input device and the input line, choose the type of instrument you want to tune, and select the string to be tuned. Each string of the different instruments has a note assigned to it and its target frequency in Hz. When you pluck the corresponding string, a series of indicators will activate. They will show the microphone input level, the input frequency, the note that is nearest to the input frequency and the target frequency. Also, a bar graph shows the accuracy of the note; the more green bars it shows, the more precise is the tuning of the string. The program allows you to control its sensibility level by using the slide bar at the left side of the user interface.

The shareware version of the program shows a "nag screen" at startup, which disappears only after a while. The longer you use this version, the longer the nag screen stays on. If you want to get rid of it, then you need to purchase a license. Also, please note that, according to the program's Help file, this application is only compatible with Windows XP and earlier. It may not work for you if you have Win7.
